In 2018 I re-discovered my love of figure drawing. In all honesty I had drifted away from the all to important practice of life drawing almost entirely. I attended about a dozen live figure sessions in Manhattan, specifically the Society of Illustrators sketch nights. If you are ever in New York on a Tuesday or Thursday I would highly recommend attending one of these. In the galley above you will find some of my more successful drawings from those sessions. I gradually noticed several improvements once I began drawing the human figure from life again. My drawings with out photo-reference improved in accuracy and I was able to clearly communicate a wider range of monitions in figures. It also seemed that many of the anatomical lessons learned in the past seemed to resurface in my mind, many of which were partially forgotten. Aside form my figure drawing work you will also find preliminary drawings from some of my illustrations and murals, free drawing sessions, and a few polished originals.
